HISTORY

Where it all began...

Orphaned at the age of nine, discover the story of Frank Tabarly. A young French man for whom boats gave meaning to his life.

Tabarly, more than a compagny...

Frank and Eric Tabarly, a touching story

Born in La Rochelle in a large and unwealthy family, Franck Tabarly lost both of his parents at the age of nine and ended up adopted by one of his uncles, Eric Tabarly a french long-distance sailor and ship's captain, whose stories of the sea made his nephew Frank dream. At the age of twelve, little Frank dreamed of building a the hull of a pleasure boat for his uncle, to thank him for treating him like a son and giving him the love of a father. At the end of 1985, he realized his dream and built his own boat hull made of plastic and wood in the city of Royan where his uncle always took him for a ride on the sea.

During ten years, the father and his son discovered a real passion for building boat hulls of all types. In 1995, they decided to create their own brand of boat hulls signed Tabarly. Ever since the selling of their first boat hull, the small family began the marketing of fishing boats to private French enthusiasts in order to allow them to live their passion and to travel the seas on vessels of French origin.

In 1997, the fishing boats are a real success, the demand increases and it becomes more difficult for Eric, Frank and their three employees to manage the production and sales of their boats. Their sales increased and revealed the quality and craftsmanship of their production. They officially became the two managers of the company, hired two new employees who were experts in sales and budget management and acquired production machinery to increase their sales.

Today, Eric Tabarly is the father of five daughters and the French company Tabarly produces pleasure boats hulls made of wood and plastic.

Thus, our core business is the production of pleasure boats. We market our boats in B to B with the only and unique conviction to offer to the impassioned and amateurs of nautical navigation the best experience: to enjoy the gift that is life on water.
